Important Information on COVID-19 Precautions

Beloved members and friends and family of Faith,

Out of an abundance of caution, it is the decision of the Church Council at Faith United Methodist Church that the congregation will not gather for worship at FUMC through April 26. All activities at the church will be cancelled or conducted virtually. Normal business operations will continue on a virtual basis and we are conducting our worship services virtually. The church office and building will be physically closed. If you need to contact the staff, please email the appropriate person or office@faithworkshere.com or call 301-881-1881.

We are concerned for the well-being of our church family and want to do everything possible to safeguard our congregation’s health as well as contribute to containing exposure within the larger community.

Online Worship for March 29, 2020

While Faith UMC’s building is closed during the COVID 19 outbreak, you will find all the resources that you need for worship here.

Each week for Sunday worship, we will post an “order of service,” similar to an online bulletin. You may click through each item in sequence, or you may hop around and choose your own worship adventure. This order of service will be posted each Sunday morning by 10 a.m.

Mid-Week Online Gathering - April 1, 2020, 7:00pm

We have set up a mid-week virtual “gathering” via ZOOM. You can access ZOOM by phone, by computer or by tablet. And if you have a camera, you will be able to be SEEN! Zoom is super easy to use – we’ve been teaching with it for a couple years now.

We will share prayers, scripture, songs and spend time with each other. If you have a prayer, poem, reading, song, or anything you would like to share with the group, bring it to our time together.

Ways to Give While the Church is Closed

While the church building is closed, there are a number of ways you can continue to financially support Faith. By clicking HERE , you can make a one-time or recurring gift online via EFT or credit/debit. Online giving is a “no-touch” option which is so helpful during this time. No church members or staff members have to touch checks or cash or go to the bank.

Alternatively, you can log into your bank’s online banking page and direct them to send a check to the church. They’ll even cover the postage. Or, if you’d like to write a check, you can simply mail it to the church office. Mail is being picked up and checks are being deposited regularly. Email Jan Spencer , Financial Manager, if you have questions.
